Services / Physical security

Security designed around the premises.

Camera and alarm systems planned for useful detection, evidence and response—then maintained as part of the connected environment.

The service

Devices only become a system when their purpose is clear.

A camera must cover the right area at a useful angle and retain footage for an appropriate period. An alarm must detect entry reliably, be practical to arm and lead to a meaningful notification or response.

microdot designs, installs and manages both systems to suit the building, operating hours, users and network. UniFi Protect provides one consistent platform for camera recording, access and management, while alarm response can remain with nominated users or connect to a professional monitoring centre.

01 / SURVEILLANCE

Coverage chosen for usable images, not camera count.

Placement, lens, lighting, privacy masking and retention are considered together. The UniFi Protect recorder, storage and network are sized for the resulting stream load, while authorised users receive straightforward access to live and recorded video.

  • Coverage, camera-angle and privacy planning
  • Indoor and outdoor UniFi Protect cameras
  • Local recording and retention sizing
  • Secure live and playback access
  • Motion and event notifications
  • Health alerts, updates and fault diagnosis
02 / ALARM SYSTEMS

Detection linked to an appropriate response.

Zones and sensors are selected for the premises and normal movement through it. Users receive a practical way to arm and disarm the system, with notification paths matched to the required level of response.

  • Door, motion and perimeter detection
  • Keypads, tags and individual permissions
  • Partitioned areas and schedules
  • Push, telephone and follow-me notifications
  • Professional monitoring-centre connection
  • Testing, maintenance and user changes

Implementation

Survey first. Place equipment with intent.

The survey identifies entrances, circulation, vulnerable areas, lighting, mounting positions and cable routes. Coverage and detection are agreed before installation. microdot handles installation directly and can coordinate specialist cabling where the scale of a project warrants it.

01

Survey

Understand the premises, risks, operating patterns and existing infrastructure.

02

Design

Define coverage, zones, recording, access and notification paths.

03

Install

Mount, cable, configure and test each part of the system.

04

Maintain

Monitor health, manage access and respond when something changes.

Ongoing management

A security system must still work when it is needed.

Email and push notifications provide early warning when a recorder, camera, alarm component or connection needs attention. Remote visibility then helps microdot investigate the fault and act before an incident exposes it.

  • Recorder, camera and sensor health
  • Firmware and configuration maintenance
  • User, notification and schedule changes
  • Network separation, resilient power and connectivity options
  • Fault diagnosis and replacement advice

Camera use remains subject to privacy law and the client's decisions about purpose, signage, access and retention. Where professional monitoring is selected, the client contracts with and pays the monitoring centre directly; microdot coordinates the required protocols, test signals and technical setup.

Start with the premises and the response you need.
