Case / 001 — Duvel Moortgat + Brouwerij ’t IJ
Local responsibility within a larger organisation.
A relationship that began with one Amsterdam brewery has grown into two complementary roles: fully managed infrastructure for Brouwerij ’t IJ’s tasting rooms, and hands-on IT support delivered in close coordination with Duvel Moortgat’s internal team.Visit Duvel ↗Visit Brouwerij ’t IJ ↗
Where it began
From local brewery IT to a long-term partnership.
Brouwerij ’t IJ
microdot began working with Brouwerij ’t IJ in 2013, installing its camera system before taking on its networks, Wi‑Fi, telephony and workplace IT across the office, brewery and tasting room.
Joining Duvel Moortgat
Following Brouwerij ’t IJ’s acquisition, microdot worked with Duvel’s internal IT department to bring the Amsterdam organisation into the wider corporate environment while retaining practical support on the ground.
Two responsibilities
Independent management where appropriate. Close coordination where required.
The work is not one uniform technical model. Hospitality locations and corporate operations have different requirements, ownership and standards—and microdot’s role reflects that distinction.
Brouwerij ’t IJ’s three tasting rooms
microdot takes end-to-end responsibility for the infrastructure serving De Molen, neighbouring Café Struis and Blauwe Theehuis: designing, deploying, monitoring and supporting the connected environment.
- Networks + managed Wi‑Fi
- Communications
- Physical security
- Ongoing administration
Corporate locations and users
At offices, brewing and warehouse locations, Duvel’s internal IT team defines the wider corporate environment. microdot provides the trusted local presence—supporting users, carrying out on-site work and coordinating directly with the central team in Belgium.
- Local user support
- On-site implementation
- Workstation deployment
- Central IT coordination
A changing organisation
Continuity through years of change.
The partnership developed through acquisition, migrations, new locations and changing operations. Throughout those changes, microdot maintained continuity between users, locations and Duvel’s central IT team.
The original brief
Local infrastructure and workplace support for Brouwerij ’t IJ’s Amsterdam operations.
Integration
Collaboration with Duvel IT began as locations, users and systems moved into the wider organisation.
More locations
A second and third tasting room, consolidated office space and expanded warehousing broadened the physical footprint.
Further change
A new brewery and office, a larger warehouse and the integration of De Eeuwige Jeugd continue the story.
Result
Continuity across a changing organisation.
